"Best clinic on the North Shore — they actually listen, take the time to explain what's going on, and the results speak for themselves."
Principal Physiotherapist · Premier Wellness Glenfield
Got a sore shoulder, an injury that won't shift, or coming back from surgery? Chris is a Principal Physiotherapist at Premier Wellness Glenfield, treating patients across Auckland's North Shore. Hands-on treatment, dry needling and clear recovery plans that get you back to the things you love — whether that's the gym, the garden or just a good night's sleep.
Chris is a Principal Physiotherapist at Premier Wellness Glenfield. He trained in the UK, graduated top of his class from Keele University, and also holds a degree in Sport and Exercise Science — which means he thinks carefully about how your body moves, where the load is going, and how to get you stronger as well as out of pain.
Chris has built his career across the UK and now New Zealand — including time at a major trauma centre, three years specialising in musculoskeletal and rheumatology outpatients, and five years in private sports injury clinics working with everyone from weekend runners to professional athletes.
Patients tend to describe Chris as thorough, easy to talk to, and good at explaining what's actually going on — not just what's hurting, but why, and what the plan is to fix it. He has a particular interest in shoulder pain, sports injuries and getting people through rehab after surgery.
From sore shoulders and ACC injuries to coming back from surgery — here's what people most often see Chris for at our Glenfield clinic.
Rotator cuff problems, stiff or frozen shoulders, post-surgery shoulders, and the kind of niggling shoulder pain that just won't go away. This is Chris's special interest.
Strains, sprains, overuse injuries and "I don't know what I did" injuries. Chris has worked with everyone from social-grade weekend players to professional athletes.
Coming back from knee, shoulder or other orthopaedic surgery? Chris guides you through a structured rehab plan — including pre-surgery work to set you up well.
Whether you woke up with it, lifted wrong, or it's been there for months — hands-on treatment plus exercises to settle it down and stop it coming back.
Runner's knee, osteoarthritis, ligament injuries, persistent hip pain — assessed properly and treated with a plan that fits your life.
Hurt yourself at work, in the garden, or on the field? We lodge the ACC claim at your first appointment — no GP referral needed.
Western medical acupuncture for stubborn muscle tension and pain — used alongside hands-on treatment and exercises, never as a stand-alone fix.
Whatever your goal — back to running, back to lifting, back to playing with the kids — Chris builds a clear, progressive plan to get you there.
Persistent pain, recurring tightness or "something just doesn't feel right"? Sometimes a proper assessment is exactly what you need.
Premier Wellness Glenfield is a registered CareWay provider — meaning if you meet the criteria, your physiotherapy treatment for knee, shoulder or lower back injuries can be fully covered. No GP referral needed.
Most people leave the first visit feeling clearer about what's going on, and with a plan they can actually follow.
A proper conversation about your symptoms, what makes it better or worse, and what you're trying to get back to.
Movement, strength and hands-on testing to find what's actually driving the problem — not just where it hurts.
Hands-on work, mobilisations, and dry needling where helpful — so you start feeling a difference straight away.
Realistic timeframes, a short home exercise programme, and a plan for the next few visits. No mystery, no surprises.
Where it fits, Chris uses dry needling — also known as Western medical acupuncture — alongside hands-on treatment. It's particularly useful for rotator cuff and shoulder problems, post-surgical scar tissue, and sports injuries where muscle guarding is slowing your recovery down.
It's never a stand-alone fix. You'll always get a thorough assessment first, hands-on treatment, and a clear exercise plan. Dry needling is added in when it'll genuinely accelerate your progress — not because it's a flashy add-on.
Book an assessment with Chris →You don't always get a Principal Physiotherapist in private practice — but you do here. Chris's experience means he's confident with the complicated stuff (post-surgery rehab, rheumatology, persistent pain), as well as the everyday sprains and strains.
And because we're a multidisciplinary clinic, if something needs an osteopath, acupuncturist or massage therapist alongside your physio, that's all under one roof.
Trained in the UK, now treating patients in Glenfield. Special interest in shoulder pain, sports injuries and post-surgery rehab.

No. You can book directly with us — for ACC injuries, private appointments, or Southern Cross claims. No referral needed.
If your problem is from an accident or injury — yes, in most cases. We lodge the ACC claim for you at your first visit. There's usually a small surcharge on top of the ACC contribution.
CareWay is an ACC-funded pathway for specific knee, shoulder and lower back injuries — open to anyone (workplace or non-workplace) whose injury meets ACC criteria. If you qualify, it can mean faster access to physio and imaging. Chris will let you know at your first appointment.
Yes. Premier Wellness is a Southern Cross Affiliated Provider, so eligible Southern Cross members can claim physio with Chris depending on their policy.
Wear something comfortable that lets Chris see and move the area that's bothering you — shorts for knee issues, a singlet or t-shirt for shoulders. Bring any relevant scans, reports or surgery details if you have them.
Around 45 minutes. That gives Chris time for a proper history, a thorough assessment, hands-on treatment and a clear plan — all in the one visit.
Easy to find, easy to park. Chris sees patients from across the North Shore — Glenfield, Birkenhead, Northcote, Takapuna, Hillcrest, Beach Haven, Bayview, Forrest Hill and Albany.
