"The team at Premier Wellness Orewa are exceptional — they genuinely listen, take time to explain everything, and the results speak for themselves. Best clinic on the Hibiscus Coast."
Principal Physiotherapist · 25+ years experience across NZ, Australia & the UK
Looking for an experienced physiotherapist in Orewa? Michelle Green is the Principal Physiotherapist at Premier Wellness Orewa, with over 25 years treating back pain, neck pain, knee and shoulder injuries, sports injuries and post-surgical rehabilitation across the Hibiscus Coast.
Hands-on treatment, dry needling, honest answers and a recovery plan that fits your life. No mystery, no months of guesswork.
If any of these sound like you, you're in the right place. Michelle treats everyday Kiwis with everyday problems — and the not-so-everyday ones too.
Whether it flared up out of nowhere or you've been managing it for years — we'll work out what's driving it and what to actually do about it.
Back pain care →Catching, clicking, aching, weakness, can't sleep on it — we'll assess it properly and rebuild it. Most people don't need surgery, but if you do, we'll get you ready and recover you well.
Knee, shoulder & hip care →Sports injuries, niggles, post-event recovery, or just getting back to your routine after a setback. Michelle has worked with everyone from weekend warriors to world-class performers.
Sports injury rehab →Hip flexor strains, ankle sprains, knee tracking issues, lower back pain, turnout problems — Michelle worked with Highland dancers at the Edinburgh Tattoo and understands what dancers need. Treatment that respects your discipline and gets you back en pointe.
Dance injury care →Often driven by posture, stress, old injuries or a combination. Hands-on treatment plus simple changes that actually stick — without you having to give up your desk job.
Neck pain & headaches →Pre-surgery prep makes a real difference. Post-surgery, structured rehab is what gets you back to full strength — not just back to "okay".
Pre & post-op rehab →Burning, electric pain from the lower back down through the buttock or leg. Sciatica needs a targeted approach — not just back treatment. Michelle assesses the cause and builds a clear plan to settle the nerve and prevent recurrence.
Sciatica treatment →Falls prevention, balance, mobility, arthritis, post-fall recovery and keeping you doing the things you love. Michelle works with older Hibiscus Coast residents to maintain strength, confidence and independence.
Senior & elderly care →Michelle is ACC and CareWay registered. We lodge claims at your first appointment, and CareWay covers many knee, shoulder and lower back injuries — work-related or not.
Work injury rehab →Michelle has been doing this for over 25 years — across New Zealand, Australia and the UK — and she still gets a kick out of helping people get their lives back.
She started out treating soldiers in the British Army, then spent over a decade as the onsite physio on some of Australia's biggest mining and LNG projects — working with tradies, riggers and crews who had to keep moving no matter what. Along the way she's looked after Highland dancers at the Edinburgh Tattoo, rehabilitated patients in hospital, treated mums with persistent back pain, and helped countless Hibiscus Coasters get back on their feet.
I want you to leave your first session knowing what's wrong, what's going to fix it, and roughly how long it'll take. That's what good physio looks like.
That breadth of experience means Michelle is good at spotting the patterns — the things that aren't quite adding up, the bits other practitioners might miss. And because she's seen so many people through recovery, she's calm, honest and practical about what works.
No surprises. Here's exactly what happens when you walk through the door — so you know what you're in for.
Michelle takes the time to really understand what's going on — when it started, what makes it worse, what you're trying to get back to.
A thorough physical assessment to work out the actual cause — not just where the pain is, but why it's there in the first place.
Hands-on treatment from day one — manual therapy, dry needling if it suits, and targeted work to start settling things down.
A clear recovery plan: what to do at home, what to expect over the next few weeks, and a realistic timeframe to get back to normal.
Dry needling is one of the most effective tools Michelle uses to release tight, painful muscles and trigger points that aren't responding to hands-on work alone. Fine, sterile needles are placed into specific points to switch off muscle tension fast — often providing relief patients haven't felt in months.
Premier Wellness Orewa is a registered CareWay provider — meaning if you meet the criteria, your physiotherapy treatment for knee, shoulder or lower back injuries can be fully covered. No GP referral needed.

The things most people want to know before their first appointment.
No. You can book directly with Michelle — no GP referral required, even for ACC claims. Just call or book online and we'll take care of the paperwork at your first visit.
Treatment shouldn't be painful. Some hands-on techniques can feel intense or briefly uncomfortable, but Michelle will always check in with you and adjust. You're in charge.
If you have an ACC-covered injury, you'll pay a small surcharge — much less than a full private rate. For non-ACC visits, we'll quote you upfront. Southern Cross members may be covered too.
Comfortable clothes you can move in — shorts or leggings work well for leg or back issues, a singlet for shoulder or neck. If you're not sure, just come as you are and we'll figure it out.
Honestly — it depends. Some people are sorted in 2 or 3 sessions, some need a longer rehab plan. Michelle will give you an honest estimate after your first assessment, and you're never locked in.
No — that's a common misunderstanding. CareWay is open to anyone with a qualifying knee, shoulder or lower back injury that meets ACC criteria, whether it happened at work, on the field, or at home.
Absolutely. You're welcome to bring a support person into the consultation room with you — many people find it helpful, especially for the first visit.
Usually within the same week — often sooner. Saturday appointments are available. Call us or book online and we'll find a time that works.
