Two New Osteopaths Join Premier Wellness
We are pleased to welcome two new osteopaths, Ciaran Heaney and Akiko Nobuhara, to the team — adding more osteopathy availability across both our Glenfield and Orewa clinics.
1Ciaran Heaney — Glenfield and Orewa
Ciaran is a registered osteopath working across both clinics, and brings a strong interest in sporting injuries alongside general musculoskeletal work.
His clinical focus covers:
- Sporting injuries and return-to-sport rehabilitation
- Back and neck pain
- Headaches
- Joint pain and arthritis — shoulder, hip, knee and ankle
Ciaran is registered with the Osteopathic Council of New Zealand and ACC, and holds registration with the General Osteopathic Council in the UK.
2Akiko Nobuhara — Orewa

Akiko joins our Orewa clinic on the Hibiscus Coast. She came to osteopathy from a background in deep tissue and soft tissue massage, which shows in her hands-on approach.
She treats:
- Back pain and postural strain
- Headaches
- Sciatica and nerve-related pain
- Joint pain
Akiko is registered with the Osteopathic Council of New Zealand.
3What This Means for Appointment Availability

The practical benefit is straightforward: more osteopathy appointments, across more days, at both clinics.
If you have struggled to get a time that suits — particularly early mornings, later afternoons or Saturdays — there is considerably more availability now than there was a month ago.
Both Ciaran and Akiko are ACC registered, so if your problem stems from an injury, they can lodge a claim at your first appointment without you needing a GP referral.
4Booking With Either of Them
You can book online and choose your practitioner directly, or call reception on 09 444 3231 and we will match you to whoever suits your problem and your schedule.
If you are an existing patient, you are of course welcome to stay with your current practitioner — nothing changes there. But if your usual appointment time has been hard to get, it is worth asking about the new availability.
You can see the whole team on our team page.
Our New Osteopaths: Common Questions
Can I switch to one of the new osteopaths?
Yes, and it is entirely your call. Your clinical notes stay with the practice, so whoever you see has your full history. Many patients see different practitioners depending on what is available.
Are they ACC registered?
Both are. They can assess your injury and lodge a new ACC claim at your first appointment, with no GP referral required.
Which clinic is each of them at?
Ciaran works across both Glenfield and Orewa. Akiko is based at our Orewa clinic on the Hibiscus Coast. Availability at each varies by day, so check online or ask reception.
