Do I need to see a practitioner before ordering genetic testing?
Yes. FitGenes tests are only available through accredited FitGenes practitioners. You'll have a Functional Medicine consultation with one of our practitioners first, so the right report is chosen and results are interpreted alongside your full health history.
What's the difference between the Mega Bundle Blueprint and CarbChoice Blueprint?
The Mega Bundle Blueprint is a comprehensive genetic profile covering vitamin absorption and metabolism, hormone metabolism, neurotransmitter regulation, detoxification capacity, immune response, dietary behaviour, fertility health and exercise response. CarbChoice Blueprint is a targeted add-on that looks specifically at the AMY1 gene to show how efficiently your body processes starchy carbohydrates, guiding weight management and dietary choices. Is genetic testing just a cheek swab?

Is genetic testing available if I'm not in Auckland?
Yes. Your Functional Medicine consultation can be done via telehealth anywhere in New Zealand. The cheek swab collection itself needs to be completed in clinic.
